I was at a supermarket today. (:
And I saw a guy. He.. Looked like Daniel Radcliffe. Which shows that he wasn't really all that good-looking, but he wasn't ugly, since he looked like he was from an 'angmoh' country. (I am sorry if that sounds racist. You should leave me a comment telling me what to call it.) And he had black spiky hair, and had bleached the tops of it white-blond. So I wasn't really caring about him. Until we were standing at the counter together (freak, he's so tall. But that's a bit obvious because he's not Asian.), for different reasons, and his relative, or someone like that, was talking to him. And he replied. And, oh my God. He sounded just like he'd just arrived from Britain from the airport and immediately came to Singapore's supermarket. (Which, of course, is highly impossible. But still.)
Why. Why do accents do that to us?
I have no idea. We need to figure out some protective way for ourselves so we will not melt into an Asian pool when we meet tall guys with accents in supermarkets.
And I am sorry if I offended any teachers or any high-and-mighty people who read this.
